Lego BattleBot Engineering, Invention and 3D Printing MegaCamp
Camp Overview
Love LEGOs? Love Robots? Unlock your child’s potential this summer at our Full Day Summer Camp! Tailored for kids ages 5 to 8 and 8 t0 14, our camp is an adventure into robotics, coding, 3D Printing, and engineering. It’s the perfect blend of fun and learning, designed to inspire and educate. Students build and program a LEGO Robot to navigate mazes, compete in BattleBot championships to win medals, and create a 3D printed invention. Students complete robot challenges to earn points to win trophies to reward their achievements. Instructors provide individual help to make sure all students win trophies and are happy campers.
Ages 5 to 8 (Jr Camp) and 8 to 14 (Sr Camp)
Parents of 8 year-old can decide if they want their child in the Jr camp (Students are exposed to Building and Coding as the Instructors guide the students) or Sr camp (students are given instruction to build and code and instructors help when needed). Students sit with their age group.
Why Register?
- Skill Development: Your child will develop essential skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, coding, 3D modeling, robot building, and teamwork.
- Confidence Boost: Completing LEGO and Robotic projects and overcoming challenges will build their confidence.
- Future-Ready: Early exposure to STEM prepares your child for future technological advancements.
Camp Benefits
- Innovative Learning Environment: Hands-on activities make learning engaging and memorable.
- Expert Instructors: Our passionate team ensures a supportive learning experience (teacher:student ratio).
- State-of-the-Art Resources: Access to LEGO kits, robotics, 3D printers, and coding software.
- Community Building: Kids will make new friends and develop teamwork skills.
Long-Term Impact
- Strong STEM Foundation: Prepare your child for academic and career success.
- Creativity & Innovation: Enhance their ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- Resilience & Perseverance: Build resilience through hands-on challenges.
Camp Highlights
- LEGO Building: Daily hands-on LEGO activities, students win ribbons.
- Battlebot Competitions: Create and compete with custom-built robots, students win medals.
- Coding Challenges: Program robots to perform tasks like picking up LEGOs and navigating mazes with fun lights and sounds.
- 3D Printing: Design and print custom parts such as a LEGO or guitar pick.
- Showcase Day: Students gain confidence with trophies to highlight their robotic achievements. Students complete robot challenges to earn points in the morning and afternoon sessions. The trophies at the end of the camp are based on points earned by accomplishing robot challenges in the morning and afternoon sessions, so students have twice the chance to win tall trophies to reward their achievements. Our instructors provide individual help for students to ensure success.
This camp combines our 5-day morning and afternoon camps with a supervised lunch break in-between.
The morning session of the camp focuses on Lego Robotics InventionLAB and 3D Printing.
Bring your ideas to life! We teach ‘rapid prototyping’, a technique that involves quickly building prototypes of invention ideas using LEGO Robotics or 3D printers. Kids design and build custom inventions with the help of their instructor and then present their prototypes to a Shark Tank panel (like on the TV show)! Kids enjoy presenting killer pitches to the encouraging judges Students complete robot challenges to earn points to win tall trophies to reward their achievements. We have individual help from Instructors to make sure that all students not only win trophies, but also gain confidence and a big smile. Students engage in programming, engineering, collaboration, problem-solving, data analysis, 3D Modeling and critical thinking.
The afternoon part of the camp focuses on building and programming robots.
Today’s kids master computers at an early age and are ready for the smiling robot that can be operated with the touch of a remote control or with simple drag-and-drop Scratch programming. Building LEGO implements on the robot to accomplish fun activities inspires the young engineer’s natural curiosity and learning thru play. Students have fun with a LEGO Robot BattleBot championship, where student-made robots “battle to the death”. With the help of our instructors and step-by-step engaging videos, students will learn to build and code BattleBots using Scratch programming language. We run the BattleBot rounds until all campers win at least one round. The robot is available for purchase so that the student can keep the robot that they built during camp. Returning students can bring their robot back to add the LED Matrix Expansion set or the servo add-on set. All students will be working with the LEGO Robot whether or not they purchase a robot to take home. Students also complete robot challenges to earn points to win trophies in order to reward their achievements. Instructors provide individual help to make sure all students win trophies and are happy campers.
