Jr. LEGO® Robot Building and Programming for ages 4 to 8

Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon of LEGO® robotics with BattleBot and laser tag—designed especially for our younger innovators ages 8 and under! At our Junior Camp, creativity and play come together as your child builds, programs, and battles their very own LEGO® robots, all while enjoying exciting laser tag challenges!


What’s in Store:

  • Team-Building Fun:
    Campers kick off the session with a playful LEGO® team activity that sparks creativity and friendship—setting the stage for an exciting day of building and play.
  • Easy-Peasy Robot Building & Programming:
    Using our budget-friendly LEGO® Robotics kits (just 1/3 the price of LEGO® Mindstorms!), kids will create and program their very own robots. With step-by-step guidance and fun demos (coding in Scratch on our kid-friendly laptops), every child builds and programs a LEGO® Robot to accomplish epic feats!  Students use a variety a robots including the Arduino LEGO® Robot, LEGO® Codey Robot and mTiny.  Returning camper with the Arduino LEGO Robot?  Add the Robotic Arm or new Lights and Sounds expansion set (select option while registering).
  • Laser Tag & Battle Challenges:
    Watch your little engineer take on gentle head-to-head challenges that mix cool robotics with LEGO® fun. Whether it’s navigating a mini maze, dodging laser tag, running in an obstacle course, or LEGO® robot wars – each challenge boosts their confidence and makes STEM super fun!
  • Celebrating Every Victory:
    Every accomplishment is cheered on! Campers earn points and collect ribbons, trophies, and medals as they learn, play, and grow. With our caring teacher-to-student ratio (about 1:6), every child gets the help they need to shine.
  • Instructor Support:
    Our friendly instructors are there every step of the way in a fun, supportive atmosphere designed just for younger learners. They ensure that first-time coders and LEGO® enthusiasts have a blast while discovering the magic of robotics!

For those who want the fun to continue at home, there’s an option to purchase the very LEGO® robot your child built! It’s a wonderful way to keep learning and impress family and friends with their very own creation.


Afternoon Session (1:30 PM – 4:30 PM):

    A warm welcome and another playful LEGO® team-building activity to get everyone excited.
  • 2:00 – Fun New Concepts:
    Simple demonstrations, cool coding tips, and kid-friendly robotics ideas—perfect for little engineers.
  • 2:30 – Snack Time:
    A quick break to refuel for more fun!
  • 3:00 – Hands-On Activities:
    • Monday: LEGO® BattleBot Basics
    • Tuesday: LEGO® Robotics Challenges
    • Wednesday: Robot Building & Customizing
    • Thursday: Easy-Peasy Programming
    • Friday: Final Programming & Award Celebration
  • 4:15 – Wrap-Up & Awards:
    Clean-up time and a fun celebration of teamwork and achievement.
  • 4:30 – Parent Pick-Up

Drop off and pick up in the upper lot

Go past the BBQ and the Drive thru

Look for Dempsey signs on right and turn into the large parking lot.

Drive toward the white fence across the lot to Dempsey South entrance

Once on the boardwalk, there is no way to get off of the boardwalk except at the end which it right into the house.
