Course Description
The path to an epic LEGO® showdown starts here! Combining the excitement of robotics with the creativity of invention and 3D printing, this mega camp is designed for young innovators ages 4–8 (with a Senior track for kids 8+). Perfect for kids ages 4–8, this camp nurtures budding engineers, inventors, and programmers through hands-on activities, friendly competitions, and exciting challenges. In the morning, campers dive into rapid prototyping—dreaming up and constructing awesome inventions using LEGO® Robotics and 3D printing tools. They also win points towards trophies with LEGO robotic challenges. Then, during the afternoon, they’ll learn to build, program, and battle LEGO® Robots in friendly competitions. Let the LEGO battles begin!
In this course, your child will enjoy:
- Rapid Prototyping & Invention: Campers quickly build models of their own invention ideas using LEGO® Robotics or 3D printing.
- Shark Tank-Style Presentations: Kids work in teams then pitch their prototypes to an encouraging panel, boosting their communication skills and creativity.
- Skill-Building Fun: From coding to 3D modeling, each project enhances problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. Campers gain confidence and have a blast doing it!
- Hands-On Robotics: Campers build LEGO® attachments on robots to accomplish handy tasks such as feed the pet and pick up LEGOs and win points towards trophies. Campers also build and program a robot for epic challenges. Campers work with several types of robots: Robot Academy Arduino LEGO® Robot, mTiny, and LEGO® Codey Rocky. Returning with your robot that you built last year? New robotics add-on sets available for returning campers with their robot: Lights and Sounds Add-on set or Robotic Arm.
- BattleBot Showdowns & Laser Tag: Fun, age-appropriate challenges—like navigating mazes, Laser Tag, and Robot Wars—bring STEM concepts to life.
- Earn Points for Trophies: Achievements are celebrated with trophies, ribbons and medals to reward teamwork, creativity, and technical skills. Instructors work with campers to ensure all succeed.
- Master Key STEM Skills: From coding and engineering to teamwork and problem-solving, campers gain confidence and have a blast doing it!
