Lego Robotics InventionLAB and 3D Printing Camp (AM Camp)
Bring your ideas to life! We teach ‘rapid prototyping’, a technique that involves quickly building prototypes of invention ideas using cardboard, LEGOs or 3D printers. Kids design and build custom inventions with the help of their instructor and then present their prototypes to a Shark Tank panel (like on the TV show)! Kids enjoy presenting killer pitches to the judges with the help of their new friends and reaping the rewards (we give the students a lot of tips and talk them through their pitches in advance to make sure they’re successful). Our instructors have won international invention competitions, so your kids are learning from the best. Students complete robot challenges to earn points to win tall trophies to reward their achievements. Award ceremonies are a fun celebration of our students’ talents. We have individual help from Instructors to make sure that all students not only win trophies, but also gain confidence and a big smile.

Turn your child’s love of LEGO into a passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Instructors inspire students to become engineers, programmers, inventors and entrepreneurs.  Robot Academy is Columbus’ original LEGO Robotics and STEM camp. Our founders won the First Lego League World Championship two years in a row (first place in robotics out of 10,000 teams) and have also won numerous national invention and science competitions. Robot Academy opened over 15 years ago and has taught thousands of young students. Many of our camp graduates have gone on to win their own international championships.  It’s the ultimate STEM experience.

Parents of 8 year-old can decide if they want their child in the Jr camp (Students are exposed to 3D Modeling as the Instructors guide the students) or Sr camp (students are given instruction for 3D Modeling and instructors help when needed). Campers sit with other kids their age.

Build and Take Home Robot: Purchasing a Take Home Robot is optional but a common request from parents and students.  Every student in the class will be building from a brand-new robot on Wednesday of camp (or adding an expansion set on their robot from last year). For just $125, your child can keep the robot they create, allowing the learning and fun to continue at home. Purchase your child’s robot at registration (specify Registration with Take Home Robot) or purchase any time during the camp at the link here and specify the class and your child’s name. If you are considering buying a robot, it is helpful to let your child know because they are more engaged when they know that it is their robot and take pride and joy in building it.  Imagine the pride and excitement as your child shows off their robot creation at home!  The student brings back their robot to build and program an expansion set on the robot for more learning.
